Kerberos Authorization Directory give docs and tools to manage a Kerberos server with LDAP backend. The target is not develop a new infrastructure but to allow integration of existing servers, supplying also patches to increase the usability of the whole system.

One of the basic goals is to reduce as much as possible any requirements, so we will use packages supplied by the OS vendor. The reference platform is currently debian etch with standard heimdal (0.7.2) instead of MIT kerberos because the bundled version does not support LDAP backend. As secondary platform we will use a Fedora 7 with MIT Kerberos version 1.6.1, which has the ldap module included.
